India defeated Nepal by 10 Wickets in their 2nd match of Asia Cup 2023. After winning the toss India put Nepal to bat first and they could able to set India target of 231 runs but due to rain, Duckworth-Lewis comes into play and target was revised and the new target given to India was 145 runs in 23 overs which India achieved in 20.1 overs without losing any wicket.
After being put to bat first, Nepal’s opening pair gave a good start and scored 65 runs for the first wicket. A Sheikh was the highest runs scorer for Nepal who scored 58(97) runs with the help of 8 fours and Sompal Kami also gave a good contribution of 48 (56) runs with the help of 1 four and 2 sixes.
India bowled out Nepal on 230/10 in 48.2 overs. Ravindra Jadeja was the 2nd most economical bowler from Indian side, spent 40 runs and picked up 3 wickets. Mohammed Siraj also picked up 3 wickets for 61 runs. M. Shami, H. Pandya and S. Thakur picked up 1 wicket each. Kuldeep Yadav was the most economical bowler who spent 34 runs in his 10 overs quota and not able to pick any wicket.
India achieved the target (147/0) in just 20.1 overs with the help of Rohit’s 74(59) and Gill’s 67(62) runs. Rohit Sharma smashes 6 fours and 5 sixes in his innings.
